Anita is the Circular Economy Secor Lead at the British High Commission, Nairobi. She also leads a portfolio of strategic activities to support environmental and biodiversity conservation in Kenya. She oversees UK’s biodiversity work delivered through the Darwin Initiative that has funded 93 locally led biodiversity projects in Kenya and the Blue Planet Fund - UK’s £500 million programme that supports developing countries to protect the marine environment and reduce poverty.

Anita elevates UK's profile and influence in international environmental negotiations and groups, particularly focusing on marine litter, plastic pollution, and circular economy initiatives. She fosters collaboration and synergies with key environmental partners, to maximize impact on biodiversity and conservation efforts.

She works with the environmental community in the UK and Kenya to monitor technical and policy developments and promote cooperation. Anita possesses over 12 years’ experience in engaging with governments, research institutions, multilateral organisations and development partners in a variety of sectors including biodiversity, policy, communications and development.
