
Nasra Nanda
CEO and ESG Lead at the Kenya Green Building Society
Nasra Nanda is a CEO and board-level strategist working at the intersection of climate policy, sustainable finance, and the built environment. As CEO of the Kenya Green Building Society (KGBS) and Chair of the Africa Regional Network of the World Green Building Council, she has helped position sustainable buildings and cities as central to Africa’s climate and investment agenda.
Over the past four years, Nasra has led initiatives spanning legislation, green finance, market development, and public-private partnerships. Her work includes securing Africa’s first sub-national portfolio of IFC EDGE-certified public buildings in Mombasa County, supporting the Nairobi City County Climate Change Act, 2024, and contributing to Kenya’s built environment NDC alignment and Africa Climate Summit processes.
Previously a Senior Associate at Dentons, she advised on ESG, conservation governance, and complex financing transactions, including Kenya Airways’ US$225 million restructuring. She is also founder of the Sumud Foundation and author of the forthcoming book Sustainability from the South: The Urban Agenda in Africa.
