Richard Kainika

Richard Kainika is a circular economy practitioner and recycling industrialist, and the Founder of Pure Planet Recyclers Ltd. He serves as Secretary General of the Kenya Association of Waste Recyclers (KAWR), where he leads policy advocacy and sector coordination for Kenya’s recycling industry. He previously sat on the board of the Kenya Producer Responsibility Organization, contributing to the rollout of Extended Producer Responsibility frameworks.
Richard is also developing a circular agribusiness venture in Kajiado, linking waste recovery to regenerative agriculture. His work focuses on unlocking investment opportunities in circular systems that deliver.
