Founder and President of the Nairobi Circular Economy Association (NACEA)
Samuel Odamo is the Founder and President of the Nairobi Circular Economy Association (NACEA), a platform that unites waste entrepreneurs across Nairobi, including waste pickers, collectors, aggregators, and local recyclers. He champions sustainable waste management solutions, particularly in informal settlements and urban environments, addressing complex challenges through practical circular economy approaches. Under his leadership, NACEA has strengthened collaboration among stakeholders such as local governments, environmental organizations, and development partners. Samuel advocates for an enabling business environment to scale circular economy models and supports the integration of informal waste actors into the formal economy. His work focuses on reducing environmental impacts while improving livelihoods across the waste value chain. He also leads capacity-building initiatives, promotes Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and raises awareness on responsible waste practices, contributing to cleaner cities, green jobs, and resilient urban communities.
