Sithabile Matava

Sithabile Matava is a Deputy Director of Health Services with Masvingo City Council, Zimbabwe, with experience in environmental health, waste management, public health surveillance, and sustainable urban development. Her work focuses on strengthening municipal waste governance systems, promoting environmental sustainability, and advancing climate-aligned urban health practices within the City of Masvingo.
She has participated in several public health and environmental management initiatives aimed at improving urban resilience and supporting circular economy principles. She is passionate about innovative and practical approaches to waste-to-wealth systems, policy implementation, and sustainable municipal services in developing cities.
Her abstract titled “From Policy to Practice: Advancing Waste Governance and Climate-Aligned Systems in Masvingo City, Zimbabwe” was accepted for oral presentation under the thematic track on Circular Cities and Municipal Systems at the conference.
